Scroll down to Arthur Avenue and take a 10 minute movie tour. It's pretty cool.

A few rain shots
The vegetable garden

30 years of landscaping and gardening to our original yard was wiped out by a bulldozer in ten minuets. Not being able to do any real yard work for the past year due to construction and the regrading of our property had caused me to loose interest in our yard. I actually have felt overwhelmed.
This morning I woke up and thought might as well get started and broke out the weed whacker. Bill came out doors and asked if I would like the vegetable garden rototilled. Of course I said yes. Well we got everything set up started to work and along came a Hugh thunderstorm. Work stopped we went in the house and are now messing with computers and thinking maybe next weekend.

Piermont Day Dream
Melanie invited Maryjo and my self to go for a visit at her friend Joan Gussows home. Joan lives in Piermont, New York and has one of the most wonderful yards that I have visited in many a year.
When we arrived we found Joan on her hands and knees hidden behind a mass of vegetation weeding, though now that I think about the visit there weren't many weeds. I think she must have been low to the ground just enjoying her plants.
My visit today took me back many decades to the Eastern end of Long Island when my dear friend Tom took me to a very special place to meet a man named Judd Bennett. Judd lived high on a bluff overlooking the Long Island Sound up behind a light house in an old boat house that his sister Edna had moved there for him. Just like Joan his property was a sanctuary a place too come and enjoy. Then while your there you realize this is place to learn. My visits with Tom at Judd's where always very interesting and educational. Today I enjoyed watching my niece talk with Joan and hope she can spend some times with her like Tom and I did with Judd all those years ago.

KIMS BIG BIRTHDAY BASH

After dinner we all had Ice cream cake and sang happy birthday.
After a while no one made a move so poor Kim started to do the dishes. All of the guys were watching her when Jim McCafferty who is visiting from Cincinnati and is known for his gentlemanly qualities stepped up to the plate and said "hey guys I can't watch this any longer lets go out for a few beers."
Kim said that's the best idea I've heard all day lets go, Matt you stay here and clean this mess

FINALY AFTER 42 YEARS

July 1966 Jim Trojan asked me if I would be interested in working for him and his dad in the Air-Conditioning/Refrigeration industry. We were both in a local bar drinking when this conversation started and I asked him what the job was about. Jim said they needed a truck driver, someone to pull and deliver material and occasionally get to work with the mechanics in the field.
I thought I'm drinking in a bar and there in here hiring drivers this sounds like a good place to work.
That's how Syd "the Kid" Smith got into the refrigeration trade.
Over the years I have been a truck driver, a local UA 373 refrigeration apprentice, a Journeyman Mechanic, a supermarket refrigeration installation Foreman, A project Coordinator, An H.V.A.C service manager. The owner of two business and to day is the first time that I am about to live in a house with central air-conditioning. Don't you think that's a little strange? Anyway here are a few shots of Matthew and Billy doing the finishing touches on two Carrier (brand) 21 SEER A/C systems.

SLEEP OVER ENDS WITH A SCREEN DOOR INSTALLATION

He and cousin Bill decided to install the screen door that I've been putting off for the last 6 months.
Bill and I didn't know Chris was such a tool master but he gave us a lesson on how to use the Phillips screw driver and some advice on power drilling. All in all the project went very fast and his Grandmother is very happy

SPOT THE REPUBLICAN
WE HAVE GRASS GROWING
Woke up this morning and the grass seed has germinated it won't be long and we'll have a lawn.
Well Marco went for a visit to Michigan and Bird went on the road for Metro to Philly and did a show. Now there both back. We missed them but don't tell them that.
Bill comes back from the seminar tomorrow and we'll have a full house again.
I think we need a few more televisions and an entertainment center. Right now at night it seems like a college dorm, giggling, goofing around, trips for cocktails ''oops'' I mean the gym. Everything except sneaking dates in for the night.
